Re-Growing Your Roots

Intensive Healing workshop

Re-Growing your roots

When a plant has damaged roots, they cannot be repaired; instead, the plant will regrow new roots. It will identify which part of the root was not damaged and the new roots will grow from that point. This is what we want to help participants accomplish in this workshop. Often we go about our daily lives, frustrated by our stress and current situations. We might know the current triggers, but feel unable to do anything to change things or handle the situation differently. This is because underlying the current issues is a deep intricate root system that has developed us into who we are today. Changes require intentional exploration and healing of the root system in order to see and feel a difference on the surface. In this workshop, participants will learn to identify their childhood wounds (these are the moments that we didn’t receive the protection/nurturing that we needed), learn to nurture their inner child, and begin freeing themselves of the unhealthy beliefs they have been carrying. This creates opportunity for new growth to take place. Ultimately, it gives us back the power to be present and in control of ourselves in the moment.

This workshop follows a similar model to what is provided in individual counseling through Change Heals. As the name intensive suggests, participants are able to accomplish significantly more within a shorter period of time. Many participants equate their growth in this process to equal 6 months or more of weekly sessions. Not only are you getting 24 hours of therapeutic support, but you are connecting with others who are on a similar healing journey.

The Workshop Includes The Following Phases:

  • During this phase, participants will receive education regarding the HOCI model, trauma, core root issues, emotions, and skills. Participants will begin to understand the impact of their experiences as a child, and how they are continuing to affect them in their day to day lives, often in ways they never realized.

  • In this phase, participants will journey into their past in order to identify less-than-nurturing and/or traumatic/abusive childhood experiences and make connections to the emotions and wounds they are still carrying with them today.

  • Participants will be led through a series of guided imagery processes, where they will identify and begin to heal childhood wounds. In this safe and nurturing environment, participants will connect to parts of their story that need healing, gain knowledge on overcoming their current barriers to healing, release painful emotions, and reclaim personal power.

  • Participants will receive resources and education on how to continue this work and integrate the growth and knowledge they have gained into their everyday life.

 FAQs

  • Sometimes one hour at a time just isn’t enough. Clients might find that it feels like they are slowly chipping away at the bigger issue. An intensive workshop allows participants to get 3 full days of uninterrupted time to process and engage with the work they are focusing on.

  • Healing is best done in community. We are social beings by nature. Our beliefs and worldviews were formed in community by influential people in our childhood. Any unhealthy core issues require validation and nurturing from others to help us reshape our views of ourselves in relation to the world around us. Participants will be carefully matched to their assigned group in order to offer the best environment for this work.

  • The full cost of the workshop is $1500. This service is not billable to your insurance. You may pay the amount in full at the time of registration, or make three installments of $500 (no additional or hidden fees applied). If you choose to make installments, the first payment is due at the time of registration, the second payment is due 1 month prior to the workshop, and the final payment is due 1 week prior to the beginning of the workshop.
